This last month we have driven many miles!  Darrel likes to joke that we are trying to stimulate the economy with our gas purchases!  We arrived back in Lakeside, Montana with the motorhome the last day of April.  A week after we arrived, we had the Mission Builders International (MBI) board meetings. It is exciting to see the things God has done through this organization in this last year and the great plans they have for moving forward.  If you have an interest in serving in missions, check out the opportunities at https://www.missionbuilders.org/

The day after the board meetings we headed up to Alberta to visit Darrel’s family.  It was great to get to visit with his family and be at the airport to welcome Janette home from Mozambique.  Darrel preached at the church there and we had good times sitting around the campfire, watching hockey playoff games together, and even doing some projects and putting up a fence around the garden.  Time with family is always precious!

Then it was back to Montana to get our gear and we headed to Utah with our daughter, Brianna and her husband John who invited us to join them for part of their vacation for a camping trip together.  We had a wonderful time together visiting Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef National Park and Grand Teton National Park.  We drove many scenic roads between those locations.  We were able to camp in several beautiful places and did a couple of hikes.

As we came home we stopped by the cemetery to put flowers on graves since it was Memorial Day weekend.  I am always reminded when we visit my parents and grandparents graves that our days on this earth are numbered and it makes me think about the legacy we leave.  It motivates me to love others and let them know the things I appreciate about them.  It makes me want to only give effort and energy to things that really matter.  I also realize how you can’t put your trust in people, because they don’t have the ability to always be there for you, but Jesus is always there for you.

We are here in Lakeside for the week and then will be heading to Switzerland on Tuesday.  We will be there for just over a month.  We are looking forward to getting to spend time with Ben and then will be there for another 2 week development sprint.  Darrel and the team will be continuing development on the mobile app that they started working on in February.

On another note, it has now been 2 years that we have been living a nomadic life.  People keep asking if we are still happy with this arrangement.  The answer is yes.  It is at times inconvenient and there are lots of logistics, but we have so appreciated the opportunity it has afforded us to be very flexible with our schedule and gave us the opportunity to serve because we are less tied down.  God is good and we continue to have lots of opportunities to learn and grow.
