I figured it was about time to send out an update since we are now in a new location!

We spent the summer in Montana.  We spent May in Lakeside and made a trip to Canada to visit Darrel’s family.  Darrel headed to Switzerland for a development sprint the first two weeks in June.  While he was gone, I was able to spend that time in Plains and volunteer at Camp Bighorn where our daughter Brianna and her husband John work.  Our son, Ben moved back to the US after being in Switzerland for 3 1/2 years. He has settled in Salt Lake City.  Darrel and I spent the rest of the summer in Helena, Montana.  Though he can work remotely he finds it beneficial to spend time in the office for the company he works for, the Mountain Health Co-op.   While we were there I worked a temp job at Montana Vital Records (birth and death certificates) which was very interesting.  We celebrated our 25th Anniversary with a getaway to Red Lodge.  We were able to drive the Beartooth Highway which was just as incredible and beautiful as I had heard.   We were back to Lakeside for several weeks in September for meetings, doctors appointments and wonderful visits with good friends.  When I look back at the summer, I am so thankful for the opportunities we had to visit family, relatives and friends, beautiful hikes and drives, and opportunities to volunteer.

Our new venture took us 1900 miles from Lakeside to Madisonville, Kentucky where we plan to be for the  winter!  We have friends here and we bought a couple of “project houses.”  The first one we are going to fix up to live in and the second we are going to flip with our friends.  This first project house had water issues so we are having to pull out all the flooring, subfloor and replace all the joists before putting things back together.  We will also be redoing the bathroom and moving some walls.  We are getting the opportunity to learn many new skills…we are not too old for that.  🙂

We are embracing the new (yet again!), the challenges and seeking to continually grow.

Stay tuned to the KeepSeekingFirst Instagram and my Facebook stories for pictures of the progress!
