These last 3 1/2 months we took a road trip from Florida to Montana and have gotten to explore some of this beautiful country we live in. We did this in the context of living normal life rather than being on vacation because Darrel works full time and so we mostly see things in the evenings or on weekends.
We were able to visit 4 new National Parks – Smokey Mountain, Mammoth Cave, Hot Springs, and Rocky Mountain.
We really enjoyed getting visiting churches in different parts of the country. We visited different kinds of churches from a cowboy church in Tyler, Texas, to a mega church (Life.Church) in Oklahoma City to mid sized denominational churches.
Darrel became an expert at creating a good workspace wherever we were at!
We enjoyed getting to drive the backroads (as much as possible), seeing how people live in different parts of the country, visiting friends and seeing where they live. I was able to visit 10 states I had never been to before. There is SO much more to explore, but I am thankful for all we were able to experience. While Darrel was working hard I sometimes ventured out on my own visiting whatever looked interesting in the area we were at…botanical gardens, sculpture gardens, thrift stores, museums, city parks, and walking trails. It was wonderful to get to visit friends along the way as we made our way across the country…and it has been great to get back and reconnect with family and friends here in Montana.
