After being in Hawaii most of the month of March, we flew back to Phoenix, AZ. We were at our motorhome just north of Phoenix for a few days before heading down to Tucson for 2 1/2 weeks to visit with relatives and friends. It was very special to see all of Darrel’s mom’s siblings and some of his cousins who live there. We were also able to visit special friends and even got in a couple of drives in the Jeep.
Last year we had left Arizona in March and driven up the CA and OR coast on the way back to Montana. This year we have gotten to observe a bit of the cactus bloom. That also means we have been here when the rattlesnakes have been more active. Thankfully, we haven’t had any close encounters. Wherever we go, I love to observe God’s amazing creation.
One thing that Darrel and I have been so aware of is how we want to live intentionally. We want to connect with people and invest in things that matter because this life can be over so quickly. My cousin passed away this week and I am so thankful that we got to see her and her wonderful (grown) kids and granddaughter last fall on our journey south. The times together with the ones you love are precious! I never want to take for granted the friends and relationships we have.
It is exciting to be starting our trek back up north and we look forward to connecting with our friends there. We will be in Lakeside for the summer…so if you are coming through stop in and say hi…except for June 7-July 11 when we will be in Switzerland for another development sprint.
God is good and we are so thankful. As we were heading back to our motorhome after being down in Tucson our alternator went out on the Jeep. We were able to limp it back and then borrow a vehicle to get a new one. Darrel installed it and we are good to go again. I was so thankful because it could have been a real challenging situation if it happened when we were out on a trip or if it had happened the day before when I had the Jeep 8 miles up a dirt road hiking with a friend.
