Another highlight was getting to visit Waterton Lakes National Park of Canada to celebrate our 27th anniversary early in August. It was the first time we had been there and we thoroughly enjoyed the beauty!

On our way back to Kentucky we enjoyed a wonderful visit with good friends in Billings, visited Badlands National Park, and made a work stop in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

We were glad to get back to Kentucky the end of August and be settled in one place for a while. Since we left the end of March, we stayed in 27 different places and spent 71 nights in our little travel trailer. So getting back and settling into a normal routine was welcome. We came back to a project…we bought another house that we plan to flip. It is a house with good “bones”…but it needed cleaning out and updating after being empty for the last 10 years. It had other bones that needed to be removed as well…raccoon and possum skeletons from the attic . There were at least three layers of wallpaper on every wall and the ceilings were wallpapered as well. The demo is almost complete – the bathroom, kitchen and ceilings have all been taken out.

We will be taking a bit of a break since Darrel’s dad and sister are coming to visit. We also have plans to head to Indiana to visit Darrel’s aunt and uncle and then we are heading to Virginia to visit some other relatives. When we get back, we will get back to work on the house.
Now that we have some consistency in our our life, we are focusing on health and good routines. We have joined a small group at church and are reading Louie Giglio’s book Don’t Give the Enemy a Seat at Your Table. You can imagine our surprise, when we arrived to find there were 34 people in the small group. I am also enjoying The Bible Recap – New Testament by Tara-Leigh Cobble on You Version. I think it is so important to be filling our minds with good thoughts and edifying things. I pray you are encouraged by the beauty of God’s creation and that you are looking to him for hope and joy in this season.
