We have been in Tucson for the past 5 weeks. We have enjoyed getting to meet up with relatives and friends. Tomorrow we are moving over to Ehrenburg (west near the California border). We have a couple of groups that we are getting together with over in that a. First we will meet up with a groups called Nomads Helping Nomads and then we are are getting together with other Trek motorhome owners.
I have posted pictures from hiking and Jeep trips, but this is what most of our days look like.
Each place we go, there are the logistics to figure out…where to find groceries, wash clothes, find water and dump stations (when we are not in an RV park) etc…
While we were in Tucson we were able to do some hikes…Picacho Peak was the highlight!
The week of Christmas was interesting for us. Darrel woke up on a Monday morning (Dec. 21) with a fever, body aches, chest tightness, a cough and a terrible headache. We had been around a friend the day before and so we figured we better get Darrel a Covid test and I got tested too since I had been with him. We were able to get one that day and then we self quarantined in our motorhome (which felt smaller each day!) until we got the results. It took 4 days to receive the results and in the meantime Darrel recovered and felt well. We finally received the results on Christmas day that we both were negative. We were delighted to get that news and we were so glad to get out and go for a hike!
New Years Eve was fun…we were able to video chat with Ben in Switzerland and help him ring in the New Year! The bonus was we didn’t even have to stay up until midnight…does that mean we are getting old? 🙂
We have gotten to meet various people in the RV park here. We were able to go on some shorter hikes with some people. One of those hikes was out to see a crested saguaro.
We find so much value and purpose in the connections we make with others. People are what is important and we are trying to be aware each day of the opportunities we have to show God’s love to others. Often it is as simple as being friendly or lending a helping hand or offering a listening ear. Each of us has something to offer if we are willing to make others a priority.
Happy New Year!
