We moved! Well duh, isn’t that what you are supposed to do when you live in a motorhome? Well yes, but this time we moved earlier than we had planned because of the weather. We are learning that the weather is one thing we always have to keep an eye on. We really enjoyed the time we spent camped at Lyman Lake State Park. The leaves were changing color, it was peaceful, and there were beautiful hikes to see petrogyphs and other ruins. Then, the internet which had been great all of a sudden went down. We spent a couple of days last week driving the motorhome into neighboring towns where Darrel had internet speeds fast enough that he could work. Because the 4 letter “s” word was in the forecast there and the internet was unpredictable, we decided to move down to Benson a few days earlier than we had planned.
We are now experiencing what it is like to be in an RV resort. The laundry facilities are great. It is wonderful to have all the services (power, electric, water and garbage). The people have been very friendly. Yesterday I went for a hike with a group from here. There were 11 of us and we went to the Ramsey Canyon Preserve. I was the youngest in the group. One of the gentlemen in the group had just celebrated his 87 birthday!
When I got back from the hike, Darrel and I went for a walk in the rain. It has been so dry here that they said they had only gotten rain two times this summer! Last night it was supposed to get down to 31 degrees so Darrel disconnected the water. Then this morning as we were sitting here having tea I looked out and there was white stuff flying outside. Yep, you guessed it. We got snow in Benson, AZ in October. Thankfully it was just flurries for about an hour and there was no accumulation. How ironic!
On a different note, I am continuing to love the beautiful sunrises and sunsets in this part of this country.
