We enjoyed the 3 1/2 months that we were at Lakeside, MT, at MBI (www.missionbuilders.org), but we bought “a house with wheels” so that we could move so it is exciting to be hitting the road.
I had never driven a vehicle the size of motorhome pulling a Jeep, so there have been new things for me to learn. I do enjoy driving it, but I am still not excited about driving in cities with traffic on both sides of me. 🙂 Things I appreciate…wide shoulders, smooth pavement and signs recommending what speed to go around corners. Also, great admiration and appreciation for all the truckers and the job they do to move stuff all over the country!!!
As we left Montana we were able to swing in and have lunch with our daughter and her boyfriend and get in a short hike before we headed on to Kellogg to visit my brother and his family for the weekend. Time together with family is so precious and every day is a gift. The smoke had rolled into Idaho by that time, but it didn’t matter because it was about the people, not the scenary.
We drove south. I know we drove by some incredible places because of the scenic overlooks, but since there was no visibility due to the smoke, we will consider it good driving practice winding along the river. We stopped for the night at the Riverside Resort in Riggins, ID, and enjoyed sitting along the Little Salmon River for the evening.
Every place we have been we have met interesting people with interesting stories.
We are still working at finding a new rhythm in this life…what Darrel needs to work, how far we like to travel in a day etc…
So, the adventure begins and we are excited about what God has for us!
